Recital Production Numbers

Each year at Heart of the Valley Dance Academy, we invite our dancers currently enrolled in our developmental and competition programs to participate in recital production numbers.  Production numbers are large group dances, usually based on a theme, that are performed in all three recitals. We invite dancers from all HOTVDA  classes to come together to perform in these numbers. 

This year, we are doing two productions.  The first is a ballet/ lyrical dance from The Nutcracker Ballet. All dancers who are currently enrolled in ballet, lyrical, ballet technique, and PBT / prepointe recital and competition classes are invited to participate in this dance. The cost for the Nutcracker production number is $45.00 per dancer, which includes a tutu for the costume. Dancers will also need a black leotard, prima pink tights, and ballet or lyrical shoes.  The second is a Zootopia-themed jazz/tap/musical theatre number. All dancers are invited to participate in this production number. The cost for the Zootopia production number is  $55.00 and includes a costume. Costumes will be in a variety of bright colors with fringe.

  Practice dates:  

Saturday, March 14: Zootopia will meet 9:00-10:30 and The Nutcracker will meet 10:30 12:00AM. 

Saturday, March 28, April 11, April 25: Zootopia will meet 9:00- 10:00am and The  Nutcracker will meet 10:15-11:15am.

  Wednesday, May 6: Zootopia will meet 6:00-6:30 pm, and The Nutcracker will meet 6:45 7:15pm.  

These dances will also have practice time scheduled at dress rehearsal. 

 Students who participate must be at one of the first 2 practices. Dancers are allowed only one missed class. Because of the short time we have to learn the routine, attendance is  IMPORTANT. If you are not able to make one of the first two practices, or if you will miss more than one practice, you are not able to participate. Please return the bottom portion of this letter with your class fee/costume payment by March 5th.
