Our Story
Heart of the Valley Dance Academy was founded in 2007 by Sara Musich. With the help of her family and friends, she founded a studio built on the love of dance, with a goal of not just building good dancers but good people.
Sara started dancing at 5 years old and found dance to be a place where she could build her confidence and gain self-esteem. Her teacher of many years, Joan Van Eperen, instilled a passion that continues today.
Heart of the Valley Dance Academy stands out from other studios by creating an inclusive, inviting and inspiring classroom environment. Students are challenged while learning correct technique and terminology. We also hope to help our dancers learn to be respectful, responsible and independent. We work to build the confidence of our students, helping them grow as dancers and individuals.

Heart of the Valley Dance Academy offers two different programs to meet the needs of our dancers. Our developmental program provides structured, weekly classes in a variety of styles that perform in our annual recital. Dancers are trained in proper technique and our goal is to see them progress and develop into the best dancer they can be!

Our instructors are qualified professionals with a passion for nurturing and inspiring their students. Our goal is to provide the best instruction possible while our students learn to love dance.

Classes are offered in the same styles as the Developmental Program, but classes are accelerated and

Our Competitive Program is for those looking to take their skills and technique to the next level and auditions are required for placement. Classes are offered in the same styles as the Developmental Program, but classes are accelerated and more advanced for the serious dancer. Dancers in our Competitive Program compete at three regional competitions as well as perform in our annual recital.
